This week, one of the UK tabloids did one of it's typical eye catching but factually incorrect articles. The act of having sex outdoors is NOT a crime in the UK. Doing it where it is witnessed, and to cause offence is. So what does that really mean?

For many people, ladies in particular, sex on the beach is a common fantasy. As tempting as it might be, indulging in a little late night passion on the shore while abroad could land you in a lot of trouble. In 2008 a British couple where taken to court after being found in the act on a beach in Dubai. Everyone has heard tales of girls stripping for drinks, blowjob competitions, sex on balconies, and of course, the beach in Magaluf. This year the authorities are clamping down after years of turning a blind eye, how successful they are remains to be seen. If the lure of outdoor sex is your reason for a holiday, then check up on the local laws before you pick your destination.

Here in the UK, the main factor likely to dampen a couples ardour is the weather. Should they make it to a beach, as long as they are in a secluded spot where they are unlikely to be seen, and tidy up after themselves, no one will know, or care. Years ago, anyone caught by the Police could expect to be in deep trouble, but under guidelines issued to them over a year ago, a warning is the usual outcome. Even popular dogging spots are usually only checked if members of the public complain.

Away from the beach, unless you don't mind the prospect of being watched by other doggers, then many woods and forests may have to be avoided. Some have tried children's play areas in the early hours, though trying to be quiet on a squeaky swing, roundabout, or climbing frame may only give you a short time before someone comes to investigate. Though the various pieces of equipment, combined with a supple and athletic partner, can lead to some very interesting positions.

During the day, most benches you see around town are occupied by people doing little more than taking a break from shopping, or having a bite to eat. • Night time gives far more opportunities
• If the risk of being seen is important to you, make sure you can get away fast if necessary
• NEVER do anything where a child may see or you could end up in jail
